Objective
The student knows the most common application areas of fieldbus systems, recognizes the different fieldbuses and knows their working principle. He/she is able to design simple systems based on fieldbuses, choose the necessary components and make the application software for a fieldbus system

1. The student knows the application possibilities of fieldbuses
2. The student knows the working principle of the common fieldbus systems
3. The student knows the cabling principles of different fieldbuses
4. The student can design a simple application based on fieldbuses
5. The student knows the basic requirements of documentation
Assessment criteria, good (3)
1. The student is able to evaluate the suitability of a fieldbus system for a certain application
2. The student is able to select components for a fieldbus application
3. The student can make application software for a fieldbus system and commission a simple system
4. The student can make the documentation of the system and make the necessary drawings
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
1. The student is able to evaluate different fieldbus systems
2. The student can make a definition for a fieldbus application
3. The student can select proper components for a fieldbus application
4. The student can install a fieldbus system, make the application software and commission the system
5. The student can connect different fieldbuses
6. The student can make the documentation of all components, connections and application software
