Objective

After passing the class the student understands the technical drawings and documentation, comprehends the engineering designs and gets overall understanding of machine’s functioning. In addition the student can draw technical pictures both in 3D and 2D. Student is also able to understand the usage of different materials in mechanical engineering applications and to understand the assemblies.

Content

The class contains different drawing techniques, understanding of the technical designs’ markings and the usage of them. In addition the learning of how to draw both in 2D and in 3D is essential. Introduction to how to select material for appropriate applications in mechanical engineering, creation of the technical diagrams and getting accustomed to assemblies are in focus, too.

Class consists of lectures, supervised assignments and assignments made at own time.
The class has 2 tests, which both must passed in order to pass the class. In addition all assignments must be turned in and approved 100% in order to achieve the grade.
