Objective

The student will master reliably the basic methods in calculus and matrix algebra. The student can model phenomena in natural sciences and economics, using mathematical computer programs when necessary. The student understands the essential mathematical concepts and structures and he/she sees them as the analytical basis for the work of an industrial management engineer.

The derivative, extreme values, the integral. Matrix operations. Inverse matrices. The determinant. Simultaneous linear equations. Linear mapping. Eigenvalues. Analytic geometry. Linear regression. Boolean algebra. Mathematical computer programs.
