Objective

Familiarise the student to design and implement security solutions for local area networks. After completing the unit, the student understands the basic terminology relating to network security, the basics of planning security, security technologies and methods applied in IP-networks.

Content

Basic terminology relating network security: threaths, vulnerabilities, attacks, security policy, filtering, access control. Network security technologies and methods applied in the IP-networks.
