General information

Credits
3 ECTS

Objective

On completion of the PLD course the student understands the basic properties and limitations of programmable logic devices and knows when and where to use PLDs.

Additionally the student learns the basics of hardware description language (HDL) and
how to use it to model and design both combinational and sequential digital circuits with PLDs.

Content

- Principles and architectures Programmable logic devices
- Complex Programmabe Devices (CPLD)
- Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)
- Use of CAD-tools in digital circuit design and analysis
- Hardware Description Language (VHDL)
- Modeling and implementation of sequential circuits

Qualifications
