Objective

After completing the course the student knows radio transmitter and receiver general constructions and noise signals effects to radio transmission. The student understands radio signals processing principles and effects of the radio link parameters to transmission performance. The student has knowledge on some widely used fixed radio systems and mobile radio systems constructions and characteristics.

After completing the course the student is able to depict radio transmitter and radio receivers constructions on block diagram level. The student has skills to evaluate radio receiver noise performance and transmitted signals bandwidth requirements by calculations. The student is able to explain the architecture of land mobile radio systems.

Radio transmitters and receivers, noise, modulation, multiplexing, coding, radio communication, broadcasting systems, mobile phone systems, paging systems, radio links.
