Objective

After completing the course a student understands why different transmission methods are used over different transmission channels, e.g., fixed and mobile channeals. He/she is able to see why achievable data rate depends on channel quality and how systems adapt their operation to channel characteristics to achieve the best performance.

After completing the course a student has basic knowledge for engineering and maintenance of digital transmission systems. He/she can also estimate performance and quality that a certain transmission method achieves over a given channel.
