Objective

The student improves his/her abilities to understand and express him/herself in everyday communication situations.

The student will be able to use the basic structures and vocabulary functionally in his or her own texts. He or she will understand simplified spoken and written English, will be able to communicate in everyday situations, and will be able to write short messages.

Content

Everyday communication situations
Politeness, small talk; talking about oneself, background, work experience, telephone calls, emails.
Structures: word order, verbs, nouns and adjective comparison, adverbs and prepositions.

Qualifications

The course is intended for students who received a test result below the required level B2 in English. The purpose is to help students achieve sufficient skills as to pass the obligatory English courses in their degree programme.
