Osaamistavoitteet
The student understands digital transmission system theory, effect of noise on transmission, error control coding, digital multiplexing methods and digital modulation methods.
Sisältö
Baseband digital transmission, line codes, noise and errors, synchronisation techniques, Pulse code modulation (PCM), Delta modulation, and digital multiplexing. Error detection and error correction coding theory, principles of data encryption. Bandlimited digital transmission adn digital modulation methods, OOK, BPSK and FSK, quadrature and M-ary QAM systems, Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Modulation (COFDM). Bit error rate and bandwidth efficiency calculations in baseband transmission and in various modulation methods.
