This course focuses on initial router configuration, Cisco IOS Software management, routing protocol configuration, TCP/IP, and access control lists (ACLs). Students will develop skills on how to configure a router, manage Cisco IOS Software, configure routing protocol on routers, and set the access lists to control the access to routers

Router elements (RAM, ROM, CDP, show), functions of the TCP/IP transport-layer protocols, configuration files from the router privileged exec mode, functions performed by ICMP, control router passwords, identification, and banner, the main Cisco IOS software commands for router start-up. Identify the parts in specific protocol address examples. Topology changes, and techniques to reduce the number of these problems. Configuring and verifying IP addresses. Adding the RIP and IGRP routing protocol to the configuration. Configuring standard and extended access lists to filter IP traffic. Monitoring and verifying selected access list operations on the router.
