Objective

After the course, the student has the ability to configure and set-up an active directory on a Windows Server environment.

Content

Introduction to Active Directory, DCPromo, RODC, AD auditing, Group Policy, Server Core, Certification Services, Federation Services.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Configuring DNS service
- The student is capable of creating zones, and configuring them with the instructor's help;
- The student understands what is Domain Name Service (DNS), and is capable of configuring it with the instructor's help

Active Directory
- The student is capable of creating a domain, and configuring Active Directory with the instructor's help;
- The student understands the differences between the forest and domain, and is capable of setting up the functional level;
- The student understands what the FSMO roles are

Active Directory maintenance
- The student understands what has to be taken under consideration when backing up and restoring;
- The student is able to monitor Active Directory with its own tools with the instructor's help;

Active Directory Certification Services
- The student understands the meaning of certificates;
- The student is able to install certificate services and understands what the certificate templates are;
