Objective
After the course, the student has the ability to configure and maintain a SharePoint Server.

Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 overview, Configuring and maintenance, portal solutions set-up and maintenance, content management, Business Intelligence, Forms Server, MOSS maintenance

Installation and configuration of SharePoint Environment
- the student understands what needs to be considered while a SharePoint environment is being installed;
-the student is capable of installing a simple SharePoint environment with the instructor's help;
- the student understands what SharePoint farms are and he /she is capable of configuring them with the instructor's help;
- the student understands what kind of an advantage the search index gives and he/she is capable of configuring it in a SharePoint environment.
Administration of a SharePoint environment
- the student is capable of defining settings related to SharePoint's operative actions (e.g. log settings, monitoring, reporting services);
- the student understands what accounts and user roles are and he/she is capable of setting up and configuring them;
- the student understands the importance of authentication in SharePoint and he/she is capable of configuring the most typical authentication methods.
Deployment and maintenance of the applications
- the student understands what web applications stand for and he/she is capable of defining the databases, settings and policies related to them with the instructor's help;
- the student understands what SharePoint solution packages are and he/she is capable of configuring and installing them.
The maintenance of the SharePoint environment
- the student understands how backup and restore are designed in a SharePoint environment;
- the student is capable of doing a simple backup and restore with the instructor's help.;
- the student understands how the SharePoint environment can be monitored and analyzed;
- the student can optimize the SharePoint environment based on the analysis he/she has made.
