Objective

The student gains ability to configure and maintain Windows Server Network Infrastructure.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Configuring addresses and services
- the student is capable of configuring IPv4 and IPv6 addresses with the instructor's help;
- the student understands what DHCP and DHCPv6 stands for and he/she is capable of configuring them with the instructor's help;
- the student understands what routing means and he/she is capable of installing it with the instructor's help in a Windows Server operating system;

Configuring name services
- The student understands what DNS replication stands for and he/she is capable of configuring it with the instructor's help;
- the student understands the difference between different name services (NetBIOS, WINS, DNS).

Configuring network access
- the student knows what remote access stands for and he/she is capable of configuring it;
- the student is capable of configuring Direct Access with the instructor's help;

Defining and configuring file and printer services
- the student understands what a distributed file system (DFS) stands for and he/she is capable of configuring it with the instructor's help;
- the student understands what file services stand for and he/she is capable of configuring them with the instructor's help;

Maintaining network infrastructure
- the student understands what WSUS service stands for and he/she is capable of configuring it with the instructor's help;
- the student understands the importance of the event log and he/she is capable of configuring them for his/her purposes;
- the student is capable of creating a network filter and he/she can collect network traffic information.
