Objective

After the course, the student has the ability to configure and maintenance an Exchange Application Server

Content

Exchange roles, setting up databases, configuring public folders, configuring recipients, client access, transport configuration, monitoring, high availability and recovery, security and policy, cloud computing.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Configuring and maintenance of Exchange Server
- the student understands with help from the instructor, why the Active Directory must be prepared for an Exchange installation, and is able to do it with the instructor's help;
- the student understands why there are different roles in an Exchange Server, and is able to configure them with the instructor's help;
- the student is able to use an Exchange Management Console and Exchange Management Shell with the instructor's help;

Configuring mailboxes and public folders
- the student is able to configure public folders and mailboxes with the instructor's help;

Configuring client access
- the student understands what kind of client access possibilities there are for Exchange, and is able to configure them with the instructor's help;

Configuring message routing
- the student understands what the transport rules in Exchange are and is able to create and configure them;
- the student is able to configure hub transport and edge transport roles with the instructor's help;

Monitoring, high availability and restoring
- the student understands what is high availability and is able to use monitoring and high availability tools in Exchange with the instructor's help;

Security in Exchange Server
- the student is able to configure and maintain security features in Exchange with the instructor's help;
