Objective
The student will know the most common latches and flip-flops and understand their operation and most common applications. After completion of this course the student will know synchronous state machines.
The student will be able to construct simple functional blocks using the most common digital circuits and will be able to perform their fault analysis. After completion of this course the student will be able to design simple state machines.
Content
Sequential circuits. Latches and flip-flops. Counters and registers.
Design and simulation of synchronous state machines, and analyzing them.
Understanding implementation of simple combinational and sequential logic with VHDL-hardware description language, Simulation of VHDL-hardware description language and understanding VHDL-testbenches.
Realization of different counting sequences using binary counters.
