Objective
After completion of this course the student will have an understanding of ionizing radiation, its biological effects and use in nuclear medicine and radiation therapy. The student will have a deeper understanding of quality control, safety regulations, radiation protection and the techniques and devices used in nuclear medicine and radiation. The student will comprehend principles, standards, regulations and law of nuclear and radiation safety. The student will understand how to cooperate with nuclear medicine and radiation therapy professionals.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
1. The student is able to understand the basic methods and techniques of nuclear medicine and radiation therapy.
2. The student is able to understand the structure, configuration and function of nuclear medicine and radiation therapy devices.
3. The student is able to understand the most typical breakdowns and failures of nuclear medicine and radiation therapy devices.
4. The student is able to carry out the basic maintenance and repair procedures of nuclear medicine and radiation therapy devices.
5. The student is able to cooperate with healthcare professionals and nuclear medicine and radiation therapy professionals.
