Objective

After a successful completion of the course, the student can independently design industrial electricity networks or their parts. The course is closely linked to the course "Industrial power systems", in which the knowledge and skills will be expanded and deepened through the practice of design.

Content

1. Industrial energy demand
2. Energy efficient solutions
3. Combined heat and power production
4. Technical-economic solutions in distribution
5. Selection of voltage levels
6. Selection of distribution system components
7. Limitation of fault currents
8. Emergency power equipment

Qualifications

Introduction to distribution systems
Network Distribution Disturbances

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. Students are able to size the need for electrical and steam energy of an industrial plant based on key figures.
2. Students are able to evaluate the appropriate energy economic solution model in the example case used.
3. Students are able to choose a technically and economically appropriate distribution system.
4. Students are able to choose the correct voltage levels.
5. Students can choose the distribution system components
6. Students are familiar with methods of fault current limitation methods
7. Students can choose the basic back-up power equipment
8. Students are familiar with the purpose of the planning documents and are able to draw up the most relevant drawings, procurement programs and calls for tenders.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student will be able to create alternative methods for the industrial distribution network in ordinary cases, and is able to compare their suitability to various criteria.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to evaluate the suitability of different industrial electrical networks and their mutual assessment in various industrial processes point of view.
