Objective

The student understands the basics of data modeling and is able to understand a construction project as a logistic sourcing chain. After completion of this course the student has the basic knowledge on data model based electrical design and the combination of IFC-files and their links to contract calculation software.

Content

1. Building information models
2. Combining the BIM-models (Navisworks, Solibri)
3. Project on combination of the BIM-models
4. Cost accounting based on the models
5. Life cycle models, energy calculations

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student is familiar with the building information models.
2. The student is able to use the models in his/her design work.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to combine the models to an operating model and sees its benefits in the actual construction process. The student will be able to visualize a combination of these models.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to combine the different models and can use IFC-files to analyze the life cycle of a building.
