Objective

After completion of this course the student will have an understanding of the most common diseases and disabilities and their diagnostics and therapy. The student will have a deeper understanding of the diagnostic and therapy equipments. The student will know the most common devices used in somatic therapy, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, eye care and hearing care. The student will understand how to cooperate with health care professionals.

9. Devices and methods for operational health care
10. Transplantation surgery and artificial organs
11. Neuroprosthetics
12. Devices and methods for physiotherapy, occupational therapy and rehabilitation
13. Eye care and hearing care devices
14. Human machine interface
15. Human computer interface

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student is able to understand the basic principles, methods and techniques of medical diagnostics, treatments and care.
2. The student is able to understand the structure, configuration and function of the most common diagnostic, treatment and care devices.
3. The student is able to understand the most common breakdowns and failures of diagnostic, treatment and care devices.
4. The student is able to carry out the basic maintenance and repair procedures of diagnostic, treatment and care devices.
5. The student is able to cooperate with diagnostic, treatment and other health care professionals.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. The student has an advanced understanding of the principles, methods and techniques of medical diagnostics, treatments and care.
2. The student is able to understand the integration and networks of diagnostic, treatment and care devices.
3. The student is able to understand the interfaces between human body and technology.
4. The student is able to make a maintenance and service plan for one diagnostic, treatment or care device.
5. The student is able to operate independently with diagnostic, treatment or care devices.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student has a detailed understanding of the principles, methods and techniques of medical diagnostics, treatments and care.
2. The student is able to understand special diagnostic, treatment and care technology.
3. The student is able to understand medical diagnostics, treatments and care in the point of view of health care professionals.
4. The student is able to make a maintenance and service plan for a complex device system.
5. The student is able to understand medical diagnostic, treatment and care units, wards and departments.
