Objective
On completion of the course the student will be able to
recognize the abbreviations, symbols and line types used in structural drawings
recognize the most common abbreviations, symbols and line types used in drawings of other design areas connected with buildings
draw a section from a given plan drawing
make reinforcement drawings
explain the reinforcement of a structure from a drawing
determine the permanent loads and applied loads of an ordinary building
determine the snow load and the wind load of a building
compose the load combinations of a structure for ULS design
compose the load combinations of a structure for SLS design
find information of loads and structural design documents
recognize the status of the work description as a design document
explain the contents of common work description

define the wind load of a high rise building
recognize the total wind load and wind load on surfaces
explain the transportations of loads on the surfaces of a building into the structural elements
