Objective

On completion of the course the student will be able to describe the characteristics and uses of the most common building materials.

Content

The characteristics, production methods, uses and repair methods of the most common building materials. Wood, natural stone, brick, lime sandstone, breeze blocks, concrete, mortar, steel, aluminum, copper, brass, insulation such as gutter, mineral wool, plastic insulation, water insulation, glass and surface structures such as paint and wallpaper.

- the student is familiar with the characteristics, uses and repair methods of building materials

- the student is able to use building materials correctly, repair them correctly and select an appropriate material, suitable installation and maintenance instructions for different situations and purposes.
