Objective
After completing the course the student is able to
- list types of precast concrete commonly used in Finland
- explain the functional behavior of common precast structural members
- list the contents of assembly scheme
- recognize the parts in assembly scheme essential to structural engineer
- design the structural ties required in joints of a precast concrete building
- design concrete walls with no structural reinforcement
- list the subjects of importance in verifying the stability of precast concrete building during erection
- design the structures needed in lifting a precast concrete element
- consider the influence of available lifting equipment in the structural design of precast concrete elements
