Objective

On completion of the course the student will know the principles of site management and will be able to apply them when drawing up production plans. The student is familiar with various schedule types and is able to use them to create site plans. In addition, the student knows the different viewpoints of quality, the principles of quality management and quality assurance, and is able to draw up a quality plan in construction.

The student will be able to:
- describe the contents of the working plans of an apartment building site and the principles of use of the plans
- describe the tasks in setting up a construction site
- describe the proceedings in managing a site
- draw up an input based general schedule of an apartment building project
- draw up an input based weekly schedule of an apartment building project
- draw up a finishing schedule of an apartment building project
- draw up a quality plan for a building project

The student is able to draw up schedules using a place-time chart and a line schedule. The student knows the components of quality and the methods of quality management.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to draw up schedules using a place-time chart and a line schedule, applying the principles of site management. The student is able to apply the components of quality in quality control.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to draw up schedules using a place-time chart and a line schedule, applying the principles of site management proficiently. The student is able to apply the components of quality and to draw up a quality plan for a small project.
