Hot Dip CoatingLaajuus (3 ECTS)
Course unit code: TQ00AB11
General information
- Credits
- 3 ECTS
Objective
The student knows the principles of hot dip galvanizing processes. He/she knows the effects of steel composition on the coating, its microstructure and properties. The student knows the effects of dipping time, temperature and different pre-treatments on the coating properties. In addition, he/she is able to take into consideration the structural design of steel components for successful galvanizing. The student knows the mechanical, corrosion and paintability properties of hot dip coated surfaces and the benefits of duplex-painting.
