Objective

The student can describe how corrosion depends on thermodynamics and kinetics. The student can present how a corrosion cell works and what are the phenomena dominating the cell reactions. He or she can describe how corrosion proceeds in different materials and conditions, and define which factors increase and which decrease the corrosion rate. He or she can present the anti-corrosive methods and measuring methods of corrosion rate and their potential applications. The student can carry out the most essential electrochemical measurements and process their results.

Content

1. Corrosion conditions
2. Anti-corrosive methods
3. Electrochemical and high-temperature corrosion measurements
