Objective

After completion of this course the student will
- understand basic geodetic terminology
- understand the fundamentals of geophysics and mathematics in geodesy
- know the functonalities and use of common geodetic instruments
- know how to perform plane coordinate based geodetic calculations
After completion of this course the student will be able to
- use common geodetic instruments
- perform basic geodetic calculations

Content

Basic concepts in geodetic measurement techniques. Measurement units. Concepts of accuracy. Measurement of heights, height differences, angles and distances. Basics of geodetic calculations and calculation of observations. Basics of satellite measurements.
Ground control point measurements. Mapping and stake out measurements. Geodetic measurements in planning of physical environment.
