Objective

The student will know the most important structural materials and their main properties. They will comprehend the stresses induced on structures by different kinds of mechanical loading. They will understand, which material properties are the most essential for withstanding different types of mechanical loads. The students will fully understand how to utilize material standards.

The student will be able to consider the applicability of different material types for a certain need. The students will be able to evaluate the mechanical performance of material and structures in straightforward loadings.
