Objective

On completion of the course the student will have an overall understanding of the HVAC systems in buildings, especially in single-family houses.
The student knows the rules and regulations concerning the HVAC systems in buildings on a general level.
The student is also familiar with HVAC drawings and can identify the devices represented in them.
Furthermore, the student can recognize demands that have an effect on the selection and operation of an HVAC system and can compare various systems with other similar ones.

Content

Rules and regulations governing the planning, implementation and use of HVAC systems in single-family houses
Getting acquainted with the most common symbols used in HVAC drawings and the corresponding products and equipment
Planning the HVAC system of a single-family house and choosing equipment for it.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to define and list the operations of HVAC systems and recognizes the most common HVAC drawing symbols and equipment.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can independently describe and illustrate how the HVAC system operates, what are the most common symbols used in HVAC drawings and which equipment corresponds to the symbols.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can describe as well as explain the operation of an HVAC system using official professional terminology and drawing symbols. The student is also familiar with the most important HVAC equipment.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student is able to define and list the operations of HVAC systems and recognizes the most common HVAC drawing symbols and equipment.
