Automotive Braking SystemsLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Basic knowledge of brake systems and drive control systems.
The student learn the vehicle´s brake system components and functions and how vehicle behaves in the braking maneuver. The student is also capable of making the basic calculations of the braking system and choose the components which are needed for the system to pass the regulations.

Legislation, braking event, brake force distribution, brake force adjusting equipments, brake components, materials, ABS, ESC, BAS etc., electro-hydraulic brakes, brake-by-wire, retarders, pneumatic brakes, exercise.
Slip control systems ASR and driving stability systems
ESP. Pneumatic brake systems.
