Objective

The objective of the course is learn useful calculate methods for solving the thermodynamic problems of the automotive and transportation technology.

Content

Thermodynamic system, ideal gas model, energy transfer by work, specific heat capacity, first law of thermodynamics, enthalpy, adiabatic and polytrophic process, second law of thermodynamics, entropy, carnot-cycle, Air standard otto-cycle, air standard diesel-cycle, pumps and compressors, laboratory work, calculating pressure-volume diagram of the IC-engine.
