Objective

After the course the students can understand the function of the spark ignition engines and compression ignition engines so well that the students can anticipate effect of the all engine design parameters.

Content

Reciprocating motion, piston speed and velocity, gas and mass forces, balancing of the mass forces, theoretical otto- and diesel cycles, combustion, gas exchange process, two-stroke engines, supercharging, engine components, rotational oscillations

Qualifications

Fysiikka 1 ja matematiikka 1 suoritettuna. Fysiikka 2 ja matematiikka 2, sekä enrgiatekniikka kuunneltuna.
