The student is able to

- understand what managerial duties consist of
- appreciate multiculturalism
- recognize his/her behavioural patterns
- seek advice where appropriate

1. Types of organisations, organisation objectives, vision, values and strategy
2. HR-planning. Setting goals. Performance evaluation. Feedback. Rewarding. Motivation. Recruitment. Staff training. Know-how development. Leadership skills. Communication

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. Student identifies company’s core processes that relate to management.
2. Student is familiar with laws and legislations that relate to management
3. Student takes Thomas Personal Profile Analysis or equivalent.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. The student knows how various types of people can be motivated and rewarded.
2. The student has a deeper understanding of at least one book on management.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student understands the purpose of strategy in business management.
