Objective

After finishing the course the student has a whole picture on hybrid and electric vehicle technology.

Content

1. Electric vehicle technology.
2. Serial and parallel hybrids, plug-in hybrids, battery operated vehicles.
3. Vehicle high voltage systems and work safety.

Qualifications

Recommended: Power Engineering and Power Electronics.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student is familiar with the basic idea and strengths and weaknesses of hybrid and electric vehicles.
2. The student understands the work safety aspects of high voltage battery systems.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. The student understands deeply the operating principle and control logic of hybrid drive systems.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student can solve simple design problems concerning hybrid and electric vehicles, such as sizing the battery system for certain purpose of use.
