The student is able to solve basic cases correctly; knows how to calculate the effect of torsion and bending moment's stress distribution on an axis, for example

The student is able to apply basic knowledge broadly; calculate the stress distribution on a gear assembly's axis and the mesh load which is in parallel to the wheel radius and axis of the cogwheel, for example

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to apply basic knowledge broadly; calculate forces affecting axle stress distribution and take into account the factors affecting axle fatigue.
