Objective

Student is able to assess the importance of the automotive and transportation industry from the viewpoint of the Finnish- and world economy.

Content

1. Effects of the automotive industry and transportation on the Finnish economy, automotive industry. Basic legislation.
2. Vehicle emissions.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student compiles a short report on the topic by copying it from source 1-2.
2. The student is able to itemize the exhaust gas emissions.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. The student submits a detailed report on a given topic by utililizing a multitude of sources.
2. The student is able to explain the effects of vehicle emissions on humans, environment and nature.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student’s analysis of the significance of a specific automotive industry phenomena for the individual and society at large is based on both the existing body of literature as well as on his/her own material (measurements, interviews).
2. Additionally, the student is able to explain the origin of emissions and the preventive measures taken to constrain them.
