Objective

The goal of the course is to learn basics of 3D modeling and gain knowledge on how to implement gained knowledge as part of design process.

2. Making drafting using 3D software
3. Modelling of assemblies
4. Modelling of sheet metal structures

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. Is able to understand the basics of parameters and dependencies between models.
2. Is able to understand the basics of mechanism design.
3. Is able to understand differences between solid and surface models and can create a basic surface model.
4. Is able to understand the basics of 3D based product lifecycle management.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. Is able to understand dependencies between components and making of parameter. Is able to use them effectively.
2. Is able to understand the basics of mechanism design. Is able to create a mechanism using all the tools taught during the course.
3. Is able to understand advantages of surface tools in 3D design and can use the tools taught during the course.
4. Is able to understand 3D based product lifecycle management as part of a company’s lifecycle management process. Is able to work as a designer in PLM environment.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. Is able to understand dependencies between components and making of parameter. Is able to use them effectively.
2. Is able to understand basics of mechanism design. Is able to create mechanism using all the tools taught during course and apply tools in course’s “own assigment” effectively.
3. Is able to understand the advantages of surface tools in 3D design and can use the tools taught during the course. Is able to model advanced geometries with surface design tools.
4. Is able to understand 3D based product lifecycle management as part of a company’s lifecycle management process. Is able to work as a designer in PLM environment.
