Objective

The student knows the basics of integral calculus and complex numbers and can use them in applications. The student is capable of solving mathematical problems with computer.

Content

Integral calculus and complex numbers. Exercises using computer.

Qualifications

Equations, Trigonometry and Vectors and Functions and differential calculus

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student knows the concepts of definite and indefinite integral and is able to use basic rules of integration. The student knows the principle of how definite integral can be estimated numerically. The student knows the concept of complex number and its representations and is able to perform calculations algebraically. The student is able to solve simple complex equations.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the requirements above, the student can apply definite integral for example to calculate areas, volumes and mean of a function. The student knows how to use complex numbers in applications.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements above, the student has a deep understanding of the topics covered in the course and is able to apply them creatively and sensibly in different applications.
