Objective
After finishing the course the student understands the requirements for the management system of modern Otto and diesel engine. The student is familiar with the operating principle of the system and the principles of engine management and recognizes the components of the system and their operation as part of the system.
Content
1. Air-fuel ratio and combustible mixture.
2. Normal combustion and knock.
3. Management principles for otto and diesel engines.
4. Different management systems for otto and diesel engines.
5. Mixture formation and air flow control.
6. Spark ignition.
7. Sensors of engine management system.
8. Emission control and exhaust gas processing.
9. Hybrid drive systems.

1. The student is familiar with the basic principle of otto and diesel engine management.

1. The student understands the operation of engine management system and can justify how changing a variable will change the operation of the engine and why.
