French 1Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Students will manage some of the basic communication situations in working life in French, are able to ask and answer in various service situations and tell others about themselves. They are familiar with French speaking cultures and with a typical way of communicating and reacting in French as well as master key vocabulary related to these situations.

Students will be able to apply the basic grammatical structures in French.

Content

Students practise grammatical structures, pronunciation, listening comprehension, and participate in communicative exercises as well as in pair and group work.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has achieved the course objectives on a satisfactory level. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are limited compared to the content of the course.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student has achieved the course objectives on a good level, but some aspects of the student’s skills and knowledge still require further attention. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are good with regard to the content of the course. The student is able to apply the acquired skills in communication situations encountered in studies, work, or free time.

The student has achieved the course objectives excellently. The student’s target language communication skills and cultural knowledge are strong with regard to the content of the course.
