Event Production SeminarLaajuus (4 ECTS)

Objective

The objective is to initiate the student into the work and professional identity of the producer/cultural manager through set literature and work on individual production projects under multidisciplinary supervision. The objective is personal professional growth and development in various areas of event-production work.

The student will have command of the principles of self-directed and work-based learning and will be trained in team and seminar work. The student will be able to analyse and evaluate his/her own learning that of his/her working group and peer group in the work of the producer/cultural manager. The student will be familiar with producer/manager identities as presented in literature and research and will be able to evaluate them critically in addition to having command of the whole event-production process; the various production stages of a project from planning to presentation.

The stages of an event-production project
Project and process management
Tasks of an event-production project (including acquiring financing, information. teamwork, management, marketing etc.)
Analysis of learning at the individual and production team levels
Presentation of the student’s own project
Production reporting as a means of providing information, documentation and learning
Self-directed working methods, teamwork
Learning based on working life, shared learning, investigative learning
The producer/cultural manager’s professional identity in literature and research
Discussion of productions in theme seminars
