Basics of Professional GrowthLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The course supports the student’s professional growth. After completing this course, the student will be able to plan one's professional career and build one's own expertise profile as a cultural manager. The student will be aware of the strengths and development targets of cultural manager work and will know how to develop one's skills for learning. The student will be familiar with study-related motivation and stress factors and will have the means to control them. The student will understand different ways of evaluating and how the evaluation affects the study process.

- Personal study plan
- Key competences and professional identities of a cultural manager
- Development as a student, learning theories and methods
- Tools of evaluation (including self-reflection, peer evaluation, teacher evaluation)
- Stress and time management
- Lifelong learning

Qualifications

Preceding studies: Introduction to Studies

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Passed: The student takes an active role during the learning process and can apply the knowledge when planning his/her own professional growth and profile. The student can use materials provided during the course to develop one's learning capability independently. The student takes actively part in group work during the lessons.
