Music Writing 3Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student gets acquainted with different parallel sectional techniques and with linear writing, gains facilities for polyphonic writing and is able to create idiomatic harmonic unities in a creative way that develops his/her expression. The student is able to utilize the before-mentioned competences in creating artistic works of his/her own.

- Fundamentals of writing linear harmony
- Writing two and three-voice jazz counterpoint
- Creating idiomatic harmonic unities.
