Objective

The students becomes familiar with basic studio equipment and signal routing, and learns to use them in practical applications.

Content

Knowledge of equipment:
- Microphones
- Mixing desks and channel strips
- Connecting and controlling monitors
- Recording devices and systems
- Amplifiers and speakers

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student:
• has participated in class
• is familiar with project studio equipment and signal routing
• has completed the agreed exercises
• has completed the final test

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition, the student:
• is able to control the signal chain of a project studio, including microphones, a mixing console, recorders, amplifiers and speakers
• is able to carry out a small-scale recording session, as well as handle the signal routing for headphones in a small studio

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition, the student:
• is able to use project studio equipment independently and appropriately
