Music production 2Laajuus (8 ECTS)

Objective

Students gain familiarity with the structures of production and the stages of its progress from the producer's point of view through lectures, guest speakers and their own practice production projects.
Students learn to influence production content by working on song structure, melodic, harmonic, rhythmic and chordal elements as well as issues related to lyrics.
Students learn to influence the artistic and interpretational expression of vocal and instrumental performances in order to achieve their own productional vision under the guidance of a teacher.

Content

- Designing and executing productions in the studio environment under the guidance of a teacher, moving from small-scale (small ensembles) to larger projects (large pops/jazz/fusion orchestras, big bands, choirs)
- Rearranging student compositions and working with texts
- Producer/engineer/arranger/lyricist guest speakers
