Objective

The student knows extensively the standard practices of notation and is able to realise them with notation software.

Content

Standard notation practices; lead sheet, score and part notation; the usage of notation software; file formats (Sibelius, Finale, MIDI, MusicXML etc).

The student:

• can use notation software to create scores and parts that follow common practices

The student:

• has done the required exercises
• can work independently
• can use notation software to create scores and parts that follow common practices well
• can realize more advanced notation, such as clusters, multiple layers on a single staff, notation with various performance instructions etc.
