Composition 4Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student gains facilities for creating small-scale compositions in various genres of popular and jazz music and for different kinds of ensembles. Furthermore, he/she has a command of the technical matters required for creating music and is able to utilise them in expressing his/her own creative ideas. The student is able to obtain current information about the profession and apply it to his/her work. The student also gains facilities for developing his/her individual musical expression in a way that will contribute to the development of his/herself and his/her music.

• knows the characteristic features of various music styles
