Spezialising in Movement and Dance in Music EducationLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student deepens the experiences and knowledge in using movement as a means in music education. The student also becomes more conscious of how to apply music and movement in different contexts.

Content

The course is deepening the skills of applying movement in music education with different groups (children, babies and parents, elderly people, children with special needs, groups in orchesra´s education programmes etc.) The course is also focusing in widening student´s own bodily experssion. It also gives the possibility to focus on different themes by using one´s own special fields of interest in music and movement. The working method are mainly groupdynamics based education by doing different activities in a student group, but the course may also include some working practise-projects and litterature. The course also includes getting information about child development, supporting the leanrning skills in general and music education methods using movement (Dalcroze eurhythmics and Orff-pedagogy).
