Early Childhood Music Education 3Laajuus (9 ECTS)

Objective

The student deepens the knowledge in music education and widens the professional experience in applying the former knowledge with different target groups.

Content

The course contains using the former knowledge and experience in the new situations and in a more analytical point of view. This will support the growth as a teacher and helps to be more aware of the areas that will require special attention in the studies. The course consists of groupmethods focusing in one's own experience and gaining deeper knowledge by analyzing the experiences. The student also learns to know the ideas and educational methods of education philosophers and pedagogies of different periods, to find information in professional literature and to apply it to the mental, social, motoric and musical development of a child. The student also gains knowledge of the early childhood music education by means of workshops, lectures, demonstrations, exercises, litterature and different projects in the group.
