Swedish at WorkLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Students acquire a level of competence that allows them to communicate in Swedish in different working environments in the art and communications industries, and to develop in their profession. The studies focus on the development of interaction skills required in performing, teaching and consulting. The acquired language skills also include the ability to locate information from sources written in Swedish, follow the development of Swedish-language art and communications industries, and analyse one's observations in oral and written form. The studies provide a positive and realistic view of each student's communication skills, and enable students to develop those skills through independent study.

Content

Describing work and required comptetencies. Work careers, titles and positions in the field. Search for positions. Oraganisations in the field: services and operations. Texts and terminology of the professional field. Communication situations: lectures and master classes, stages of art and media production, presentation of productions, telephone calls, nogetiations. Written communication: short and letters, applying for contests and scholaships, marketing materials, contracts.
