Analysis Workshop, RenaissanceLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

The student learns to understand Renaissance compositions and gains familiarity with the principles of their form. He/she also learns to associate the compositions with the appropriate cultural, social, aesthetical and ideological contexts, as well as present a work of his/her choice in writing and prepare a description of its background.

Content

The studies are of a project nature. The student goes into analysis of a musical work under the guidance of the analysis teacher and into the historical environment of the work through different points of view under the guidance of the history teacher.
